THE NFB IN LIBRARIES
The NFB Film Club is changing its name
The NFB Film Club is changing its name to
THE NFB IN LIBRARIES and offering more new releases to libraries.

THE NFB IN LIBRARIES is an opportunity for you to:
  • bring today's NFB to your users
  • gain access to new programming
  • select handpicked titles, starting January 1, 2023
  • select recent interactive productions, animated films, and documentaries from the 2022–2023 program and our monthly newsletters
  • create events in partnership with the NFB (post-screening discussions with filmmakers, producers, or local organizations; other film-related activities at the library or online; screenings organized outside the library building, in the community, etc.)

You want to present other films?
If you wish to present titles other than those suggested, you can look at the annual program. All the films in this program can be presented in-person or on-line. Otherwise, if you wish to program other films, you can  publish links to the films on your own platforms or make suggestions by directing your users to the nfb.ca viewing space. Free public screening licenses for these titles will no longer be issued.

Starting January 1, 2023, the NFB will prioritize newer films for public screenings because the filmmakers who have worked on them for years, along with the production and distribution teams, would like them to be seen by Canadian audiences. These titles are selected for their quality and relevance, but also based on topics of interest to libraries. They are definitely worth seeking out!
