| | | Season's Greetings and Happy New Year!
|
| I'd like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude
for your invaluable input into getting the NFB's films seen across Canada. Thanks
to the unique partnership that, for decades now, has connected the NFB with the
nation's public libraries, thousands of Canadians have been able to see works
that speak directly to their realities.
Here are a few ideas for our programming in 2023.
Looking forward to continuing this wonderful collaboration!

| | | Unarchived Hayley Gray, Elad Tzadok | 2022 | 1 h 24 m
|
| In
the new feature documentary Unarchived, co-directors
Hayley Gray and Elad Tzadok highlight community archives across British
Columbia to reveal some of what has been erased from the official record.
Local
knowledge keepers are hand-fashioning a more inclusive history through family
photos, newspaper articles and scratchy old VHS tapes. Through a collage of
personal interviews, archival footage and deeply rooted memories, the
past, present and future come together, fighting for a space where
everyone is seen and everyone belongs. History is what we all make of it.

| | | Blood relations (Virtual Reality) Analee Weinberger with Dpt. | 2022 | 18 min
|
| "What
makes us who we are?" is the question that drives Blood Relations, a
whimsical VR documentary about an adopted child and an ancestral mystery. Using
vintage objects, photographs and ephemera, the narrator takes us on an
interactive quest, from a scrapyard in Vancouver to the Orthodox Jewish
community of Bnei Brak and back to a decaying farm in rural Manitoba.
Blood Relations works with the Quest 2
headset. It is available in English and French and lasts approximately 18
minutes. To have more information and discuss the possibilities to present
interactive productions at your library, contact Patrick Viegas, p.viegas@nfb.ca, even if you do not have VR
kits.
